Catherine grew up in Seattle and Edmonds, WA. She has taught creative writing, literature, and composition at Western Michigan University, New England College, the College of Western Idaho, and DigiPen Institute of Technology. She has also taught young learners through WITS (Writers in the Schools) and summer camps offered by The Cabin. She is an associate poetry editor for Fairy Tale Review.
